Operations Support

Laura is a dedicated leader, advocate, and community builder who has devoted her professional life to supporting individuals with disabilities and the families who love them. With nearly a decade of service as Volunteer Director and four years as an Executive Board Member of the Hendrickson Foundation, Laura brings both thoughtful leadership and hands-on operational support to every role she serves.

Her career began in special education, where she worked as a teacher supporting students with diverse learning needs. That foundation shaped her lifelong commitment to inclusion, belonging, and human-centered support systems. Over the years, Laura expanded her impact by founding a business focused on providing in-home caregiver relief services, offering families essential support, stability, and compassion in their daily lives.

In addition to her leadership and entrepreneurial work, Laura contributes to the next generation of educators by helping teach at the University of Minnesota, supporting students preparing to enter the field of special education. She is deeply committed to mentoring future professionals who will carry forward the values of dignity, inclusion, and meaningful community engagement.

Laura believes strongly in creating spaces where everyone feels welcomed, valued, and empowered. Her work consistently centers around one guiding principle: humanity matters. Whether she is collaborating with board members, coordinating volunteers, supporting athletes, or walking alongside families, she leads with warmth, clarity, and purpose.

Inspired by the words often attributed to Picasso, “The meaning of life is to find your gift. The purpose of life is to give it away,” Laura strives to live out that philosophy daily—encouraging others to share their gifts with the world and building systems that make that possible.

Laura lives in Saint Louis Park, Minnesota, with her husband, Pat, and their three children. Together, they remain deeply rooted in community, service, and the belief that everyone belongs.
