We are excited to introduce a dedicated Parent Program this year at the Boundary Waters Sled Hockey Combine! This unique experience is designed to support parents in their own journey, while giving athletes the opportunity to build independence, confidence, and team bonds alongside their peers and coaches. Parents who attend will have the opportunity to:
- Participate in meaningful, supportive parent programming designed specifically for the unique experience of parenting an athlete with disabilities.
- Build connections with other parents in the community.
- Share special combined activities with the athletes during scheduled times throughout the week.
- Attend the all-camp group dinner on Thursday evening.
To best support the growth and independence of our athletes:
- Parents will not participate in athletes' day-to-day activities such as meals, on-ice sessions, boating/portaging, or practices.
- Athletes will have the opportunity to manage their day independently or with the support of their teammates, coaches, mentors, and guides.
- Parents will have separate lodging (sharing cabins with other parents) and will be responsible for arranging their own food.
Parent Participation Details:
- $150 Parent Camp Fee (includes parent programming and camp swag)
- Lodging is self-funded
- Meals are self-provided (except the Thursday group dinner)
